Pretty In Pink: Making an Entrance in Hilton Head
For Noelle Iturbe, Hilton Head Island has been part of her story for thirty years. She met her husband, Iker, at Clemson University where they were both student athletes. They moved a few times - to raise their young children in Spain where Iker is originally from, and then back to Greenville, SC to open the original Pump N Pilates studio. Then after a fitness internship at Spinnaker Resorts, Noele felt compelled to return to the island. So when it was time to open another pilates studio, Hilton Head was the easy choice.
However, opening a business on the island came with a big challenge: getting noticed. Their Greenville studio features a prominent lit sign above the entrance, but lit commercial signs are not permitted in Hilton Head. Also the location of the new studio was tucked away and hard to see from the main road. "We needed something big and beautiful that was going to stand out, so our realtor recommended Coastal Canvas", Noelle remembers thinking.
"We needed something big and beautiful that was going to stand out, so our realtor recommended Coastal Canvas."
That is how Coastal Canvas Products ended up designing, fabricating and sewing a custom commercial awning for their studio. The original logo is in lowercase cursive, which was too light to be seen from far away. The couple chose to add their business name in bold, capital letters. Contrasting with delicate pink canvas, the result is striking yet inviting. Each component of the awning was engineered to last through coastal weather, preserving the grand yet graceful aesthetic that matches the studio inside. "After going back and forth with town permits, we love how it turned out. We would absolutely hire Coastal Canvas again, and recommend them to any business," says Noelle.
